Maren Turner, Executive Director
(she/her) Maren Turner is an accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, building dynamic teams, and advocating for progressive issues at the local, state, and federal levels. She brings a wealth of experience in C4 and C3 landscapes and in-depth expertise in building infrastructure that operationalizes racial equity, centers BIPOC communities, and is rooted in socioeconomic justice. Maren worked her way to State Director of AARP Kansas after holding 4 other roles in increased scope and responsibility. She simultaneously taught graduate-level courses at various universities in the US and Europe on aging and diversity related topics. Maren continually develops mentorship, capacity building, and trust in the teams she leads.
Maren holds a PhD in Behavioural Psychology and a MA of Human Development from the University of Kansas in addition to a MS in Developmental Psychology from Howard University. Maren also holds certificates in grassroots organizing (Direct Action Organizing) from the Midwest Academy, a graduate certificate in gerontology from the University of Kansas and certification in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from Cornell University. She has also offered leadership on many board committees of organizations working on issues related to health, social services, civil rights, and racial equity. Maren’s fortitude makes her a leader of action; she successfully established the first Diversity Council at AARP Kansas, lead a state-based initiative with national implications on the impact of social isolation on people of color before and during COVID-19, and implemented critical HR strategies at AARP to increase diversity and inclusion. She has been a guest on CNN, NPR as well as local affiliates and has provided numerous interviews featured in print media.
Outside of Maren’s expansive work, she enjoys supporting local theater and art programs, trying new foods, travelling, walking her dogs, and spending time with her daughter. She is a new member of the Links, Incorporated and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta and the Council on Black Health.
Annamarie Oommen, Data and Programs Director
(they/them/she/her) Anna has dedicated most of her life to political organizing, with humble beginnings organizing annual student walkouts at her hometown high school. Since then, her accomplishments include supporting farmworkers solidarity efforts, working on Democratic coordinated campaigns in both Washington and Oregon, organizing with the Stand Up to Oil Coalition, passing gun violence prevention legislation, defending access to reproductive health care, and graduating from ADL’s Glass Leadership Institute. When she’s not working or volunteering, she enjoys hanging out with cute animals and searching for cool rocks on the beach.
Lorin Walker, Human Resources and Operations Director
(she/her) An accomplished Senior Human Resources and Operations Director, Lorin joined Win|Win in November of 2021 with over 20 years of experience designing, implementing, and administering comprehensive, inclusive, equitable, people focused, HR and operations strategy, policies, and procedures to achieve organizational goals and missions. Lorin’s experience and expertise were gained through her time as Director of Operations, Finance, and Human Resources at The Technical Committee, the entity formed to oversee Microsoft in its compliance of the 2002 antitrust settlement, which was accountable to the USDOJ and settling states; as the Director of Human Resources, Operations, and Finance at SEIU 775, Washington’s long-term care union; and as a senior consultant to unions and non-profits across the country.
Lorin has been engaged in progressive political advocacy, campaigns, and organizing for human rights, nuclear disarmament, peace, worker rights, social justice, and racial and gender equity and inclusion for over 30 years. She was a Congressional Intern, a founding member and served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Veterans’ Alliance for Security and Democracy (VetPAC), and was a fellow and served on the board of the Institute for a Democratic Future. She is proud to serve on the board and currently holds the Secretary position at the Council for a Livable World, 501c(4) and Council for a Livable World Candidate Fund, PAC.
Lorin enjoys yoga, ballet, and spending time with her family and their three badly behaved but aging dogs.
Katie Stultz, Senior Political Manager
(she/her) Katie Stultz joined Win|Win in April 2018. She is responsible for organizing our non-profit partners and political allies around shared electoral and community organizing campaigns. Katie brings years of experience with youth leadership development, social justice activism, and campaign organizing. Katie first met Win|Win at a 2012 Youth Vote organizing meeting as a senior at UW. She worked as the Campus Program Manager and Program Director of The Washington Bus through 2016 and most recently worked as a substitute teacher in her hometown of Federal Way and the staff advisor for the student programming board at UW-Bothell. Katie is also an active member of Plymouth Church UCC in downtown Seattle, where she leads the weekly high school program focused on social and racial justice education, dismantling white privilege, and youth development. Outside of organizing, you can most likely find Katie talking about her love for dancing, Harry Potter Trivia, Federal Way, and Glee.
Tim O'Neal, Research and Data Analyst
(he/him) Since joining Win|Win, Tim continually provides strategic support and analysis to Win|Win’s partner organizations and crafts novel policy solutions. Tim holds a PhD in Neuroscience and developed his research skills during his decade of research on mental illness and addiction, where he was a vocal advocate for rooting laws and regulations surrounding healthcare in evidence and justice, rather than misconceptions and prejudice. As a member of Win|Win’s team, Tim is excited to use his skills to develop innovative approaches for bringing historically excluded communities into the democratic process, with the goal of achieving an inclusive democracy that is representative of everyone in WA. In his free time, Tim enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, cooking, and spending time with his dog.
Kara Hunter, Development Manager
(she/her) Kara joined Win|Win in May 2021 as our first Development Manager where she is responsible for the creation and implementation of our annual fund plan including grant writing, major donor work, and communications. She developed her fundraising skills through working with direct service nonprofits locally and internationally, including Seattle’s busiest food bank and services for families experiencing homelessness. Now more focused on supporting policy and advocacy work, Kara is looking forward to building new systems for Win|Win and growing our fundraising towards its potential. Kara believes in equitable fundraising that prioritizes the voices of those we are working to serve through our mission. Outside of work, Kara enjoys reading, spending time with her dog, and swimming, especially in lakes.
Rosa Rice-Pelepko, Data Associate
(she/her) Rosa has lived in Washington her whole life, and currently resides in Shoreline. She first got involved in food justice, environmental activism, and civic engagement work at Western Washington University. She has a background in field campaigns and is excited to dig into equitable data with Win|Win. Achieving State Level Admin access in the VAN is her personal dream come true, and she looks forward to supporting you in using this and our various data tools. Rosa most enjoys her time spent on basketball and tennis courts, swimming in lakes, and adoring her beloved cats. Her recent areas of learning and interest are based in animal liberation, disability justice, and prison abolition.
Jeff DeBray, Data Associate
(he/him) Residing in Spokane, Jeff joined Win|Win as a Data Associate in July 2020. His role is to ensure Win|Win supports its network partners with data research, analysis, training for election and organizing tools, and administration of the Voter Action Network (VAN). He is passionate about building the progressive movement in Eastern Washington. Prior to Win|Win, Jeff worked in electoral organizing and the nonprofit sector in resource development and community engagement. He is committed to elevating marginalized voices and young, queer people in our voting system and imagines a future where every person is housed and has full enfranchisement. A Montana native, but calling the Pacific Northwest home for 8 years, Jeff loves to hike, run, cook (alone or with friends), and mentor high school students in his spare time.
Farhiya Ahmed, Office Administrator
(she/her) Farhiya joined Win|Win in February 2022. Her role at Win|Win is to support the organization with coordinating finances and managing the life cycle of employees. Before joining Win|Win, Farhiya worked in employee relations; however, she is looking forward expanding her scope by supporting Win|Win in areas such as finance, HR, operations, and communications. In her free time, Farhiya enjoys watching reruns on Hulu, playing Wordle, and spending quality time with family.
Katie "Frank" Bassett, Executive Assistant and Communications Specialist
(they/them/she/her) Katie has been volunteering in the political sphere since their high school days. They have volunteered as poll worker, volunteered for different campaigns and was a reproductive and sexual health education advocate at their university. Katie has more than 10 years of administrative and communications experience and is looking forward to working with Win|Win. In their free time, Katie spends more time volunteering at local sporting events, running, backpacking and hanging out with their Dalmatian.
